Garrett Chapel is this lovely Catholic chapel that is located at the tip of the peninsula between the two arms of Keuka Lake, which is Y-shaped. The grounds man let us into it and then Bob serenaded us to the tune of Ave Maria. I recorded it, but can’t show it because the cottage’s wi-fi has gone out, maybe later. That was just preamble to the day’s main event, Watkins Glen. Watkins is this mile and a half long gorge that runs from the top of a big hill into downtown Watkins Glen. We parked at the top and all walked down the hill. Think of a cave, but without the roof. Trails were built by the WPA. Afterwards, we had dinner at the Stone Cat in Hector.
