Dave kayaked out to Round Island and met the Algosea. It looked scary, watching from shore, but was really rather tame. Later, we attended a 4th of July picnic, hosted by Dashy. Hosted by the Piedies, at the end of this soiree Jeff began questioning Harry about all manor of things NYC. Harry was able to answer all of Jeff’s interrogations with nary a need for a life line. Then the history quiz turned to home, like on the beach. Jeff called it the Pied Piper hike, As told, Harry started out walking down the beach. Beach urchins like Jeff, who was only twelve then, was part of the pack. Harry traipsed these kids around Cedar Point, around the back bay and up the clay banks. Not wanting to return by the same route, he brought them back via the old Soo Lines railroad track. Needless to say, this many children were missed and elders went out searching. Harry had to go out again and find the search parties. No longer twelve, Jeff still remembers this day as one of his greatest adventures.
