Ripples

Today’s post has a movie of some ripples of light that were reflected off the water on to the underside of a bridge.  The movie and today’s header were both taken last Saturday morning while biking in the Park.  Both were taken at the Grand Basin, a large pool at the base of Art Hill.  The Grand Basin is one of the few surviving relics of the 1904 World’s Fair.  The Art Museum at the top of Art Hill is another.

The Grand Basin was refurbished a few years ago and is now a major attraction in the Park.  The Grand Basin is one of the favorite stops for wedding party photographers.  One Saturday this year, I counted 17 separate wedding parties stacked up there, waiting to be photographed.  As in 1904, even today you can boat on the Grand Basin.  You can sail under the bridge and as close to the fountains as you dare.  You can hear the fountains in the sound track of the movie.
