We had storms last night but never lost power and the alarm went off at 3:30 AM. I took Anne downtown to the Amtrak station. St. Louis is sure dead at four in the morning. Gone is the old Am-shack of old. Although the new bus and train station is not quite finished. Anne’s train was waiting there when we arrived. It was powered by a new GE turbine powered locomotive. Jet train, get it?
I had planned to take today off so when I got back home I went back to bed. I got up puttered about the house and then went for a ride in the park. Crossing Clayton I got passed by a girl, but she was on a scooter. I saw our old pal the Yellow Crowned Night Heron with some friends and got some better pictures of him for this post. As I rounded Pagoda Circle I could hear the rehearsal going on for next week’s Muny show, My Fair Lady. I could have danced all night! I could have danced all night! And still have begged for more …
Anne called while I was out biking. Her train from St. Louis had been delayed. She just barely caught her connection in Chicago. So all systems are go for a successful landing on the Planet this evening. I got 25 miles in. Dan went to work. Dave is up.
Today’s header has some other kind of heron in it.
love the picture and look forward to seeing my beloved train-riding cousin tomorrow.
